The Friends of Zilker were recently contacted by Verónica Fernández with the Zilker Elementary PTA. She is working with other neighborhood groups and the City of Austin to move forward with much needed improvements for the Bluebonnet Bike Lane.
Good news is that funds have been made available to replace the current bollards and upgrade the bike lane. But additional neighborhood support is needed to get other safety upgrades included in the plan. There will be an initial stakeholder meeting this Friday, July 12th at 11am to discuss the plans with City officials.
